EXPERIENCE
Truth is Experience. If
a tribe in the desert has never encountered
snow, you can describe it to them all you
want. You can say it is white cotton that
falls from the sky. It’s cold, and
when you touch it, it becomes water. Even
if you were to show them pictures of snow,
or even video, they wouldn’t get it.
It would become intellectualization. It
will become a picture in . . their mind.
It is not until you
take them to a place to experience snow,
to see it, feel it, touch it, play with
it that they really understand exactly what
it is. A person can read about war all they
want. They can study strategy, and weapons,
and read accounts of battle.
But even after studying
all the video, reading all the reports,
understanding how all the weapons work,
and how climate impacts movement and function,
they still are lacking. But them in an actual
battle, and it’s completely different.
They will forget much of what they had studied.
The experience will overcome them. |

It is that experience that you need.
Studying with Shawn, the goal is not to compile data
and notes. That will happen. The goal is to guide you
through experiences. This way you become familiar with
the Truth of a particular situation or state of being.
You won’t read thousands of pages about energy,
you will feel it, discover different sensations, how
it flows, what it does. The reality will be your first
hand experience.
To begin your study, you will discover
the wisdom of “Integration.”
Integration is the process of observation.
You learn to pay attention to your emotions in order
to transform them. By paying attention to emotional
density, your consciousness transmutes it into a feeling
of lightness and freedom. This is part of the technique.
The next is ego purification.
The ego is your friend. It allows us
to survive and function in this world.(This will be
taught in detail during your study.) However, we develop
a lot of structures. These structures are our beliefs,
and our habits. When these structures are threatened,
a reaction automatically arises.
An example of a structure is, if a
woman had a negative encounter with a pit-bull, she
may develop the belief that all pit-bulls are vicious.
This is not accurate. Many pit-bulls are loving and
gentle. But because of her encounter, she developed
the belief that all pit-bulls are dangerous. Every time
she sees one, or hears about one, there is a reaction
at some level. This is a triggered response, it’s
automatic. It’s not a decision; it is a mindless
reaction that arises from a structure she created.
Another example: A man is taught that
his ethnicity is superior to others. He learned this
in his family, in his community. He eventually does
not question this belief of his. So, every time he encounters
a contrary point of view, he reacts. He may react inside
and just feel really uncomfortable, or he could actually
physically lash out. This is because his beliefs have
been threatened.
We build up structures all of the time.
We smile to a woman in line at the bank. She frowns
at us and looks down. We smile at someone else in line,
and then look away. We may feel rejected. We tried to
show them kindness and they pushed it away. So, we may
approach various social situations, by being afraid
to smile or interact with others for fear of being rejected.
We may state our opinion at a meeting,
and the boss shoots it down. We may feel shame and a
sense of worthlessness. Or we may become proud “Who
does he think he is?!” These are structures.
Integration will teach you how to observe
your reactions, and remove them from your life. You
will dissolve your structures, and learn to remain unaffected,
and free in whatever situation you encounter. You will
have clarity. This way, instead of becoming negative,
or falling into patterns that aren’t pleasant,
you become empowered to see things as they really are.
Integration is the process through
which we purify our experience. After years of practice,
eventually virtually nothing that happens will be able
to alter our state of being.
After we learn to purify our experience
through Integration, you then learn how to become conscious.
In all these new age books and websites you hear about
expanding your consciousness, or raising your consciousness.
Consciousness is being aware that you
are aware. In the same way an Olympic athlete is extremely
aware of their bodies, or a Tracker becomes so in-tuned
with their environment. They are paying attention. They
are fully aware of what they are observing. But more
than that, they do it without zoning out.
By “zoning out” I mean
when a person walks from point A to point B without
paying attention to their steps, their environment.
They basically get there, and much of the experience
is a blur, no significance whatsoever.
By becoming Conscious(or rather, more
so) we become aware of a richness in each experience
that we were unaware of before.
It is possible to become so aware of
your body that you feel each and every cell that composes
it. It is possible to become so aware of your environment
that through observation, you can tell exactly what
happened there, minutes, hours, even days weeks and
months ago. You can become so aware of a state of being
that you can understand everything that a person is
going through, without words.
It all depends what you work to become
Conscious of.
The more aware you are, the more you
are empowered to interact with the situation. If you
aren’t conscious, that’s like playing chess
while only knowing where 20% of the pieces are, and
hoping your move works out. This is what most of us
call “life.”
You will learn to become aware of whatever
you wish, and with practice, you can refine your awareness
to any degree that you find satisfactory. It is all
up to you.
We use Integration to remove the bias.
If we try to become aware of a situation, and we are
judging it as good or bad, this way, or that. As such,
we are obscuring the reality of an event.
We may judge a person as a jerk for
not saying hi, when in reality they’re hurting
and didn’t even see you. We may look at someone
and think they will be threatening, so we don’t
greet them. Meanwhile, they might actually be very friendly
people.
Eventually, you reach a point of tremendous
clarity. But first we need to overcome bias. This is
a lifelong process.
Here is an example of how bias can
blind us. Take a walk down the street with two people.
One person loves buildings, and the other loves cars.
The person who loves cars will see them everywhere in
great detail, he may know make, model, even hear, by
the sound be able to identify problems the car may have.
He knows the buildings are there, but he does not see
them. The other person who loves buildings will see
the windows, doors, siding, take in any damage, or additions
made to the building. She may know of the cars, but
she will be only vaguely aware of them.
This bias narrows our perception of
the experience.
This training is never ending. You
purify, you become more conscious, your perception expands,
you gain freedom, and choose where to direct your gaze
next.
Your perception of Truth will continue
to expand. This is the Experience you will gain in your
study with Shawn. The depth you reach is limited only
by your effort.
